The merger between Leeds based Ecom and Accidentcare has received shareholder approval to adopt a new name for the business Aquilo PLC. The Accidentcare and Ecom names will remain as sub-brands.
Chief executive Mike Eve said: "The enlarged group intends to have a much wider range of products and services and, therefore, it was decided to introduce a name that was not product or service specific but which reflected the philosophy of the business."
Aquilo means 'fleet of foot and pursuant of prosperity' which, the company claims, reflects its intention to build profits by applying smart solutions to the challenges facing the insurance and financial services sector.
Eve added: "Over the coming months we anticipate announcing a number of initiatives that will clearly demonstrate the appropriateness of our new name. The management have substantial shareholdings in the new group and as owner drivers we are committed to building a talent based business which attracts the best brains in the industry."
