Legal expenses provider, Arc Legal Assistance, has been appointed by Deacon Insurance Services to provide legal cover for its customers.
The Home Owners Legal Cost policy includes cover for defence costs for prosecutions brought under gas, electrical equipment and the furniture regulations.
Under the deal, Arc will also provide a legal advice line for Deacon's private and residential management company customers.
Deacon technical director Paul Sampson said: "Arc has provided us with one bespoke solution that will offer our clients, whether owner occupiers or residential landlords, with a valuable and relevant service in line with our own focus on delivering products and services that meet client needs."
Arc director Richard Finan said: "For intermediaries like Deacon, the ability of legal costs insurance providers to tailor a service for distinct customer bases is important.
"The traditional legal costs insurer is unable to respond to these requirements in a cost-effective way due to their significant and costly internal infrastructures designed to manage claims and protect their underwriting. We can achieve this through more dynamic means."
