James McPartland joins Argo International from Barbican Syndicate 1955
Lloyd’s insurer Argo International has hired ex-Barbican underwriter James McPartland as an underwriter in its professional indemnity (PI) team.
He reports to class underwriter Ryan Barnes.
McPartland was previously senior underwriter at Barbican Syndicate 1955, where he was responsible for the growth of the PI account.
Before this, McPartland spent six years as a PI underwriter with Hiscox.
Argo International active underwriter Paul Kneafsey said: “[McPartland] is a skilled underwriter with extensive experience in the professional indemnity market. His appointment will reinforce our capabilities in this sector and ensure that we are well positioned to continue to develop an area of the business where we see significant opportunities for growth.”
Argo International is a subsidiary of Bermuda-based insurance company Argo Group.
