Aspen Insurance has acquired US excess and surplus lines business Dakota Specialty Insurance from the Insurance Corporation of New York.

The company will be renamed Aspen Specialty Insurance and will operate from Boston, Massachusetts. It will focus on property and casualty excess and surplus lines.
