Aspen Insurance UK today announced that David Whiter has joined the company as senior underwriter for aviation insurance, a newly created position.
Whiter joins Aspen from XL Capital and has over 25 years experience in the London aviation market, the company said.
Based in London, he will report to Nick Bonnar, Head of Specialty lines at Aspen, and head up the aviation team. Whiter joins Martin Jackson and Paul Maguire, both recruited as aviation underwriters at Aspen since January 2005.
Chief executive Chris O'Kane said: "The move into aviation insurance is part of our strategy to build and diversify our insurance business and help balance our overall portfolio. David will be an enormous asset to our business."
