Aspen is expanding its Bermudian property reinsurance underwriting activities by $200m to service its client base in the US and Japan.
James Few has been appointed chief underwriting officer of Aspen Insurance Ltd, Aspen's Bermuda subsidiary. Few currently heads Aspen's property reinsurance activity.
Aspen's senior property reinsurance underwriters Kate Vacher, Piers Vacher and Stefan Long will join Few in Bermuda.
Aspen has allocated an additional $200m of capital to the Bermuda company to support the expansion of its operations.
Aspen's London-based property reinsurance operations will focus on servicing Aspen's other key markets, including the UK, Europe and Canada.
