Aspen Insurance Holdings has announced end of year profits of $195.1m (£101.8m), with net profits for the fourth quarter of 2004 of $72.2m (£37.7m).
Gross written premiums were $1.59bn (£827m) for the 12 months to 31 December and $216.2m (£112.7m) for fourth quarter.
The company reported separately on its reinsurance and insurance operations. Gross written premiums for reinsurance were $1.18bn ($614.3m) for the full year and the section reported a combined ratio of 85% for the year.
The insurance section reported gross written premiums of $408.5m (£213m) and a combined ratio of 79% for the year.
The group combined ratio was 83% for the full year and 74% for the last quarter of 2004.
