Claims solutions provider, Audatex is launching a new, automated, vehicle identification service, called Audavin, which it claims will radically reduce the time and expense associated with inaccurate body repair estimates and incorrect parts orders.
Audatex said that selection of the wrong model during the estimating process is the primary cause of inaccurate estimates and incorrect parts orders. According to supplier statistics, there is an average 30% return rate on parts today, costing the industry money and disrupting the claims process.
The company said that users simply key-in the vehicle registration number at the point of model selection and Audavin automatically populates the estimate with full model details based on data provided by the Society of Motor Manufacturers (SMMT).
It added that advanced negotiations are already taking place with two leading insurers to introduce Audavin alongside Audatex' parts procurement service, AudaSource, as a completely integrated estimating, vehicle identification and parts procurement solution.
Paul Tucker, managing director, Audatex UK, said: “The impact of the Audavin service is going to be immense. Audavin is the only vehicle identification service which can be totally integrated with both estimating and parts procurement. It's a seamless process which provides improved productivity, reduced costs and faster cycle times. Everyone involved in the claims process will benefit, and for very little cost.”
