Computer estimating specialist Audatex has unveiled a new software application designed to assess the quality and accuracy of motor damage repair estimating.

Audatex Benchmarking is designed to work in conjunction with the company's AudaWorkstation estimating platform.

It will allow vehicle manufacturers, work providers and bodyshop groups to analyse and compare the results of repair estimates against pre-defined benchmark standards.

Audatex managing director Paul Tucker said: "Using this tool, our customers have the opportunity to set their own benchmark standards in conjunction with their work providers and judge for themselves exactly where the errors or shortfalls occur.

"They are then in a better position to put in place relevant, targeted training schemes to resolve these issues."

Audatex is already working with vehicle manufacturers and bodyshop groups to implement the Audatex Benchmarking system as part of its ongoing skills assessment and training programmes.
