Agency Underwriting (AUL) has said it is on track to cut the time taken to resolve claims of less than £1,000.

The company said its new Fast Track service is proving a great success among the company's 3,000-plus registered brokers across the UK, including Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Brokers who have pre-registered with AUL can now deal with a Fast Track dedicated handler who will turn around straightforward claims of less than £1,000 within 48 hours of receiving the documentation.

And plans are being drawn up for a Fast Track claim form to be made available online through AUL's new website to further reduce delays.

AUL's Fast Track claims team manager Gaynor Exley said there were early indications that the pilot system was working well: "We are working towards making this the flagship standard for AUL," she said.

"Provided we are happy with all of the circumstances, then cheques can be paid out within 48 hours. We are trialling this fast-track approach for a few months and we are hopeful that we will be doubling the number of dedicated handlers working within this new system in 2006.

"Over the next year we expect to see a rapid take-up of this online operation as our brokers come to see that it represents a further opportunity for growth and professional excellence."
