Former QBE property boss Peter Fice will join Aviva in June as London Market director

Aviva has made two senior hires to strengthen its Corporate and Speciality Risk (CSR) division.

Peter Fice will join Aviva in June as London Market director, while Mark Winslade has joined as lead wholesale underwriter.

Fice was previously at QBE where he was the property director of the European operations and head of business development for Cobalt Insurance Holdings.

Commenting on his appointment Fice said: “[Aviva’s] plans for the future development of their commercial businesses are very exciting and will place the company at the forefront of many of the markets in which they are engaged.

“I am looking forward to working with the talented team in London and around the UK and Ireland as we continue to build a strong, customer-focussed business.”

Winslade will join the underwriting team in London in early August as the lead wholesale underwriter and will report to Corporate and Specialty chief underwriting officer John Tiernan.

Winslade was previously at RSA where he led the international property underwriting team.

He added: “[Aviva] have a solid reputation in the market for professionalism and expertise and I am looking forward to working with them using my experience in the property market to help develop and grow the portfolio.”
