New COO joins from AXA Paris
AXA Insurance has appointed Ian Johnson to the post of chief operating officer.
The move follows the suprise depature of Andy Fairchild in April. Fairchild had only taken up the position of chief operating officer in January 2007.
Johnson joins from Group Audit Function in AXA Paris. AXA said that in his new role will be responsible for developing, driving and influencing the strategic direction of the business. He will be based in London and report to chief executive Peter Hubbard.
Hubbard said: “I am delighted to welcome Ian to our UK business. He brings with him a wealth of relevant experience and is familiar with the strategic challenges facing insurance companies today. His broad experience will be very valuable in helping us to deliver on our growth goals set for 2012.
Ian will take up his new role today.
