AXA is aiming to grow its business within the pubs and bars sector with a new risk management product for SMEs.

Customers complete a tick-box questionnaire with their broker, covering specific risks areas such as glass handling and ATM facilities.

The customer then receives a pack containing risk advice material including posters, a risk management report with action plan and access to a free helpline.

Michael Butler, new product development manager at AXA, said: "Insurers are traditionally quite good at providing risk management advice for larger companies, because it makes financial sense for them to do so. By launching the Risk Manager product, AXA is making a big statement about how it can help brokers support their smaller customers."

The insurer is also introducing targeted risk management materials for plumbers and ground workers this month.
