Axa UK has appointed François-Xavier Quilici to the newly created post of group chief information officer.
Quilici will be responsible for creating an IT centre of excellence for Axa's operations in the UK and Ireland. He will also examine ways in which the insurer can utilise systems more efficiently.
Dennis Holt, group chief executive of Axa UK said: "This is a strategically important position that will help to shape our entire IT infrastructure for the UK.
"The main strategic change programmes in our life, general and health businesses will continue to drive through their financial benefits, and François-Xavier will be instrumental in the development of new IT strategies to support our business objectives as we move forward."
