Last month, Backchat heard, the insurer took a party of 40 brokers and 20 of its own staff over to Munich to visit the Fatherland's HQ. The address is 8 Dieselstrasse.
The only problem was that when the coach driver drew up outside 8 Dieselstrasse, it was a block of flats in a quiet residential part of town.
Frantic mobile phone calls left the likes of general manager Andrew Torrance and commercial lines exec Bob Eveleigh none the wiser. They had got the address right, so where was the HQ?
Just their luck that Munich should have two streets with the same name. An hour later they were in the HQ with their wurst nightmares over.
