The Governor of the Bank of England, Sir Eddie George, has praised Lloyd's for its work with communities in the East End of London.
Speaking at the annual general meeting of Lloyd's Community Programme (LCP), George welcomed Lloyd's decision to become a corporate patron of "Heart of the City".
The City initiative aims to encourage charitable and community work.
George said: "Lloyd's, to its enormous credit, recognised the importance of working with the community years before many other City institutions.
"Its community programme, together with its Tercentenary Fund, its scholarship programme and its Patriotic and Benevolent funds, are an absolute model for other businesses to follow."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
