The British Damage Management Association has urged anyone in need of advice or assistance regarding damage to property as a result of yesterday's incidents to contact the BDMA Administration on 07000 843 2362 or by email via info@bdma.org.uk.
It made the following statement: “Many BDMA members are experienced in dealing with this type of damage, having been involved in recovery and restoration work following the IRA bombing campaigns in Manchester, Docklands and the City of London.
“Smoke damage and air contamination in particular will require specialist treatment, as will potential exposure to asbestos and other invasive substances.
“The Recovery and Restoration Industry offers 24 hour support from skilled professional technicians able to provide emergency response, with prompt action to stabilise the environment and minimise secondary damage. These essential preliminary actions reduce overall recovery costs and make properties safer for building and other contractors where needed. This also results in a faster return to normality for property owners and affected parties.”
