In an effort to speed up its vehicle quotation process, BDML Connect has gone live with CDL's new Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) Look Up software.

DVLA Look Up provides BDML staff with information on the make and model of a car when they key in its registration number.

BDML strategic partnership director Craig Knott said the software would speed up the quotation process. He said it was also expected to improve the accuracy of data provided to both customers and insurers, reducing the requirement for additional work due to errors on policy documents.

CDL has installed DVLA Look Up for over 400 users in BDML's Portsmouth call centre.

When a car's registration is keyed into DVLA Look Up, up to 17 fields of data - including make, model, trim and engine number - appear on screen.

The software is supplied by CDL in conjunction with Carwatch UK, one of four companies authorised to hold DVLA data.

Knott said: "DVLA Look Up is already making a real difference to the speed with which data can be entered."
