The fate of HIH Insurance, the backer of Lloyd's syndicate HIH Cotesworth 535, will be decided in court on May 10. The firm suspended its shares on the Australian Stock Exchange last month, after losses of about £260m, and has appointed KPMG as a provisional liquidator.
The Australian authorities are discussing whether HIH should cease trading altogether.
