Benfield Group, the specialist reinsurance and risk intermediary, today reported a 5.6% fall in profits to £92.3m for the first half of the year.
Group revenue fell by 3.7% to £242.7m while basic earnings per share rose by 0.1p to 28.8p.
Highlights for the group in the first six months include the licensing of ReMetrica by Lloyd’s and an improved result from Benfield Corporate Risk.
Chief executive Grahame Chilton said: “The exchange rate and softening markets continue to pose a challenge but the business is well-positioned to maintain its underlying growth.”
