Bluefin Underwriting has added two commercial schemes to software house Open GI’s PowerPlace commercial lines trading platform.

The two schemes are farm and not-for profit, which includes charities and social enterprises.

Bluefin chief underwriting officer Paul Drake said: “Expanding our distribution channels to ensure brokers have access to a wider choice of SME focused products is one of Bluefin Underwriting’s key objectives.

“Open GI’s commercial lines trading platform is a key component to help us widen our distribution footprint in the UK commercial insurance market.

“I am delighted to share this announcement with Open GI and look forward to widening our partnership over the coming months, as we add further products with them.”

Open GI distribution director David Kelly added: “Being able to offer our brokers access to niche schemes such as charity and farm is another step forward for our Commercial Lines proposition. We [Open GI] want to ensure our brokers have access to a broad range of products from a number of insurers so they are able to meet the demands of their customers.”
