Residents of flood damaged Cornish village Boscastle are to be allowed back to their homes today, according to a report.

The security cordons surrounding the village were due to be lifted at midday by North Cornwall District Council, said the report.

North Cornwall District Council chief executive David Brown said the area would be closely monitored once the cordon was limited.

The villagers had been warned to take extra care when returning to their homes due to the large amount of construction work going on to repair the damaged buildings and harbour, the report concluded.
