Holdfast, the underwriting arm of Lloyd's broker Holman's, has launched a new business facility.

The facility has been launched to address the reduction of capacity in the marine market following the start of the Iraq conflict.

Holdfast plans to cater for approved cargoes by sea, air, road, rail and post. It is underwritten from Holdfast's City office and is available to all Holman agents.

Holdfast underwriter Paul Newton said: "With the market beset by capacity restrictions, we see this as a very attractive scheme for brokers to take up.

"With an efficient, same day turnaround and commission of 20% brokers have got nothing to lose by trying us out."
