Smart & Cook Group managing director Paul Meehan said: "We have taken the decision not to invite any other brokerages into The Broker Alliance.
"When the merger of 3 of our members goes through this year we will become an alliance of three like-minded large regional broking groups.
"As a result, our focused group will be able to achieve greater pace in benchmarking of all business processes."
