Centor accredited with Investors in People (IIP) status

Specialist insurance and risk management broker, Centor, continues its people-focused climb after being accredited with Silver Investors in People (IIP) status.

The London-based independent broker, who won the Investors in People Award at the 2008 UK Broker Awards, requested a review of its basic accreditation status at the end of 2009 following the recent introduction of the IIP Single Framework.

Paul Field, Systems and Quality director at Centor, explains: “The new IIP Framework provides for additional recognition for organisations that meet some or all of the 196 evidence requirements, 157 of which go beyond the basic 39 requirements of Investors in People Standard.

“We met many of the additional requirements, exercising good practice, and have been awarded Silver status which is a fantastic achievement for us. The review also enabled us to identify opportunities for development and we are now working towards achieving Gold Investors in People status in the future.”

Neil Walton, CEO at Centor, added: “I am extremely proud to head up an organisation that puts so much effort into treating its staff the right way. We involve them in all of our decision making and empower them to make a difference for the common good. Our faith in them has made this possible and to have achieved Silver status first time round is very humbling.

“The Investors in People model gives a fantastic structure to build a successful business and we are proud to have been recognised. We are looking forward to working with our assessor in order to make progress towards Gold accreditation in the coming years”.
