Bupa Membership has been declared the winner in the private sector category of the Opportunity Now awards which recognise firms with the best equal opportunities records.

The health insurer received its award from Cherie Booth QC for its efforts to provide a working environment which enables its women staff to maximise their potential.

Alison Platt, deputy managing director of Bupa Membership, said: “Almost 80% of our workforce is female and having this recognised publicly is a great achievement.”

Other award winners were Liverpool City Council, HSBC and JP Morgan. The awards are sponsored by Business in the Community.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
