Lloyd's (re)insurer Canopius said today that its latest underwriting platform, Canopius Europe, has begun trading.
Based in Zurich, the new platform will focus on indigenous European treaty reinsurance business and will underwrite on behalf of Canopius Group’s Syndicate 4444 at Lloyd’s.
Canopius Europe is headed by chief executive Eric Gutiérrez, reporting to Jim Giordano, group chief underwriting officer.
Gutiérrez said: “I am excited that Canopius Europe is now operational and the team look forward to working closely with our valued brokers and clients across Continental Europe."
