Capita hires compliance director from L&G

Capita Insurance Distribution has appointed Stephen Tearle as its new compliance director.

Tearle's first task will be to build upon the business’ existing controls, policies and procedures.

He worked at Legal & General for five years as head of compliance, supervision and finally as risk director before taking up the role of compliance director at Capita.

Mark Townsend, director of Capita Insurance Distribution, said: “We operate in an industry that is regulated and once we begin to see an end to the current economic downturn, lessons will have been learnt and it is possible that certain legislations will be revisited and changed.

"Stephen will be key to ensuring that all business activities, be it business development, sales, or marketing can excel while continuing to be fully compliant.”
