Capita McLarens Complex and Major Loss Division has announced that it has won a multi-million pound contract to handle two Zurich (ZFS) fire claims.
One claim is for a serious hotel fire at a Jersey hotel and the second is for a fire at a Manchester bakery.
ZFS major loss team are expected to work closely with Capita McLarens on the claims. David Townsend will head the Jersey team and Mike Weatherhead will lead the Manchester team.
Head of Capita's Complex and Major Loss Division Alastair Whiteside said: "These appointments, some of the largest major loss claims we have handled for Zurich to date, reflect the depth and breadth of resources which we can bring to bear on major claims."
Earlier this morning Capita ruled out any further acquisitions after the board decided to buy back up to 10% of the company's issued share capital.
In a statement to the Stock Exchange this morning the company said: "Whilst Capita will continue with its policy of making small, selective acquisitions, it is likely that our acquisition activity going forward will be lower than that experienced over the last three years."
