New site to offer ecommerce risk management solutions for small firms

THB Group’s risk management subsidiary Cardinus has launched a new dedicated ecommerce website focused on the SME market.

The company said the website has been created in response to the growing demand from SME businesses for affordable solutions to help deal with the “vast requirements” of health and safety legislation.

Andy Hawkes, chief executive of Cardinus, said: “Cardinus has built an enviable reputation for delivery of online and onsite risk management solutions covering health and safety, occupational road risk and property.

"While the focus has always been on larger clients we have increasingly been asked to deliver solutions to smaller firms, particularly by insurance brokers and insurers. To meet this demand we have built a web based proposition, that provides self help advice, easy to use risk assessment tools all supported by our onsite consultancy services.”

The site offers a password protected portal to clients with up to 250 employees. Subscribers can purchase credits and gain access to a library of resources and a range of risk assessment and e-learning tools supported by Cardinus’ PACE software program that acts as a database and workflow management tool.

Jon Abbott, managing director of Cardinus, added: “With over one million users on our platform we know our clients can be confident of the best levels of security and service and in one place can meet all their risk management regulatory requirements from DSE and fire risk assessments to driver training, property valuations, and manual handling training.”

To mark the launch, Cardinus has also signed an exclusive arrangement with the Forum for Private Business to provide a branded version of the site to 25 000 members across the UK.

Phil Orford, chief executive of FPB, said: “Complying with health and safety legislation is a costly, time-consuming exercise. Our research has shown that small business owners spend, on average, 14 hours per month filling-in forms specifically relating to health and safety. Along with the FPB’s Health and Safety Guide, smaller employers now have access to an online training and distance learning resource, providing them with the support they need to protect staff yet control costs – more important than ever in the current economic climate.”
