Carvill has launched a new unit focused on expanding relationships in the London reinsurance market.
The privately held specialty reinsurance intermediary said its new arm, Carvill Re, would focus on all classes of London market reinsurance and worldwide retrocession, including marine and energy.
John Cavanagh was appointed chairman of Carvill Re. Andrew Carvill was named managing director. Nick Foden-Pattison will be a senior director.
