Bermuda-based Catlin Insurance Company Ltd (CICL) has received approval from the FSA to establish a UK branch office.
The office will immediately begin writing specialty lines of insurance and reinsurance attaching from 1 January 2004. CICL will be managed by Andreas Loucaides, formerly chief executive at PRI.
CICL has recruited Christopher Mauduit, formerly head of professional indemnity (PI) at The Underwriter, as a PI underwriter. As well as PI, CICL will also write property, general liability, D&O and crime coverage for UK risks.
