Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown today outlined the framework for increased integration of the UK economy into US markets.
In a speech to the Lloyd¹s underwriting room, Brown called for "greater co-operation between the UK and US capital markets", as well as calling for the strengthening of the alliance between the US and UK financial services industries.
Responding to the Chancellor¹s remarks, US treasury secretary John Snow said the US, European and Asian economies were "not growing as fast as they could".
He added that the US and the UK must work together to "improve the outlook for a stronger economy".
