John Charman, AXIS president and chief executive has been granted approval to turn to take his divorce case to the High Court, according to reports.
Charman was instructed in July to pay his former wife, Beverley Charman, £48m as part of a divorce settlement. The settlement is the largest of its kind in British legal history. Charman had initially offered to pay £20m, and following the ruling announced plans to appeal the decision.
The appeal date is set for 7 March 2007.
