Chaucer is to provide Quanta's newly formed syndicate with managing agency services.
Quanta Syndicate 4000, it said, will underwrite a portfolio of specialist lines insurance.
Mark Wheeler has been appointed as active underwriter.
Chaucer Syndicates it expected to be one of the three largest managing agencies at Lloyd's in 2005, with a total syndicate capacity under management of £853m.
