Chaucer Holdings, the holding company for Lloyd's managing agency Chaucer Syndicates, has estimated that it could incur a pre-tax loss of between £8m and £12m as a result of its exposure to the US terrorist attacks.
This is equivalent to between 7p and 10p per share after tax.
The group emphasised that this is an early estimate which may change as more information becomes available.
