Chaucer is upping its offer for its Names 2004 capacity
rights to 11 pence per pound of capacity from 7.5 pence.

The company said the offer is conditional on it receiving acceptances from members holding more than 50% of the "non-aligned" capacity.

On June 24 Chaucer announced its proposal to merge Syndicates 587 and 1096 into Syndicate 1084 for the 2004 year of account which included an offer later this year to acquire the capacity rights for the 2004 year of account of merged Syndicate 1084 not then owned by Chaucer Group corporate members at 7.5 pence for each pound of capacity.
