High Net Worth (HNW) insurer Chubb has added family protection cover for car jacking, stalking and aggravated burglary to its Masterpiece personal insurance policy.
The new cover is available immediately on Masterpiece policies. The mandatory cover means Chubb will cover policyholders' claims arising after incidents that may have affected their emotional or physical well being.
Chubb claimed the new cover would be added to existing policies at renewal stage for most policyholders.
Chubb's European head of personal lines John Sims said: "The addition of our Masterpiece Family Protection cover further illustrates Chubb's aim of protecting the lifestyle of our HNW clients, not just their possessions.
"Increasingly we observed that our clients were suffering from these types of crimes and therefore we have developed this unique cover to help protect them.
"The addition of Family Protection builds on Chubb's unique ID Fraud cover, which we launched in November 2002. We are positioning ourselves as the specialist insurer that helps to protect its policyholders against 21st Century threats."
