Chubb is the latest insurer to face probes from the US Securities and Exchange Commission over finite reinsurance activities.
The company confirmed today it had received a subpoena from the US attorney for the Southern district of New York as part of an ongoing investigation into the controversial practice.
Chubb said it was one of a number of firms under investigation and had not been singled out in being asked to provide information.
The company said it intends to cooperate fully with the investigation.
