The CII and Cass Business School have created an insurance university to improve the performance of the management talent in insurance.

The two organisations today signed a memorandum of understanding for the joint venture.

The joint venture has earmarked four post-graduate qualifications for ACII qualified staff.

These include a MSc in Insurance, an MBA relevant to insurance management and leadership, executive and senior executive development programmes and a research function.

The university aims to become the internationally recognised centre of excellence for education in insurance, underpinning the Lloyd's and the London Market insurance brands.

CII Director General Sandy Scott said the initiative would make the insurance industry more attractive to school leavers and graduates.
