Lloyd's broker Clegg Gifford has launched a new householders' facility, called Select and Combine, which has been specifically designed for the independent broker.

Commission is 27.5% and the broker could have the authorisation to settle small claims if required.

One of the keys to the facility is enabling the broker to rate match on their own screens and issue policies using their own stationery by way of bespoke software which is available from Clegg Gifford.

A demonstration module can be seen at www.clegggifford.co.uk

The software was written by the Clegg Gifford IT department who provide back-up support and upgrades where necessary.

"We have been looking at ways of supporting the high street outlet and, more importantly, the independent broker for some time with innovative products so they have a real product to sell rather than a composite derivative," said Eric Saunders, director of Clegg Gifford.

"One of these is our Ex-Offenders Policy which is establishing itself in the marketplace.

"We are continuing the development our innovative initiative and will be launching new products in the next few months."
