Club Direct has reduced the prices on its most popular European winter sports insurance policies.

The new prices are for European skiing and snowboarding holidays of either six to ten days or 11 to 17 days, which are the most popular holiday lengths.

The short break cover has been reduced to £20 from £29.70 and the longer cover is now £30 from £34.95. Family cover for the short break, which covers two adults and an unlimited number of under-18s, is down from £69.50 to £55 and from £83.50 to £75 for the longer break.

The policy makes £10m provision for helicopter recovery, mountain rescue and air ambulance, plus hospital and repatriation costs, and £2m for personal liability cover.

It also includes cover for other winter sports risks such as piste closure, cancellation due to lack of snow, lost, stolen or damaged equipment, equipment hire costs if the policyholder's own equipment is delayed or lost in transit, lift pass or ski school fees in the event of loss or injury and travel and accommodation expenses incurred by weather-related travel delays.
