Stephen Lilienthal will become the chief executive officer of CNA Financial Corporation and chairman and chief executive officer of CNA Insurance Companies from 26 August.
Lilienthal's appointment was announced yesterday (Tuesday) by the corporation.
He joined CNA in July last year as president and chief executive officer of CNA Property and Casualty Operations, the corporation's largest operating segment, where he established a new leadership team.
Before joining CNA, he worked for The St Paul Companies.
Lilienthal said his aim was to build aggressively on CNA's solid foundation by delivering superior shareholder value.
