US-insurer CNA has launched an enhanced version of OMMni.com, its interactive and fully automated cargo insurance system, to offer its clients more benefits.

OMMni.com, which is accessible over the Internet, simplifies the ocean cargo insurance process for agents, shippers, brokers and importers/exporters.

It provides an alternative to the traditional time-consuming and paper-intensive method of transacting cargo insurance.

CNA marine underwriting manager for Europe Andrew Coutts said: "OMMni.com currently handles our customers' certificate and import/export declaration processing.

"With this latest release our customers can now record all warehouse (storage) and exhibition declarations for their policies.

"We now have the ability to handle all aspects of an ocean cargo policy on the web."

Improvements to OMMni.com include more user-friendly features, automatic reminders, better search features, enhanced report generating and a new look that ties in with CNA's modernised brand to be launched next month.

CNA is one of the largest insurance organisations in the US. It has assets of over $65bn (£44.8bn).

It participates in more than 30 different businesses worldwide, and in Europe provides both marine and non-marine products.
