Manchester and Walsall law firm Colemans Solicitors has merged with its associated practice of CTTS, based in Kingston-Upon-Thames, to form a new firm, colemans-ctts.

The new firm has 11 partners and a staff of almost 200 spread across three offices.

Colemans-ctts said the location of the offices meant that approximately 60% of the population of England & Wales lived within an hour of one of its offices.

The new firm has installed a common case management system and a virtual private network linking all 3 offices. This will enable work to be handled seamlessly throughout the organisation.

Plans are also underway to use the internet to allow clients and referrers to issue instructions through the web and to view the progress of their matters on line.

Senior partner Roger Coleman said: "By merging, we have produced an integrated business with the resource and infrastructure to serve clients on a national basis whilst retaining the client service standards to be expected of a local firm.

"The merger will enable us to consolidate and strengthen our position in our existing markets by enhancing the level of support and expertise we can provide, whilst at the same time presenting the opportunity to expand the range of services we can offer to both private and corporate clients."
