The Competition Commission has announced plans to investigate insurers Cornhill, Landmark, Pinnacle and London General over the sale of extended warranties on domestic electrical goods.
The investigation follows a report by the Office of Fair Trading that claimed self-regulation of the £800m market had failed.
A Competition Commission statement said might be complex monopoly situations favouring those who sell electrical goods.
The investigation will be launched next month, it said.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
