The number of new jobs in the financial services sector is outstripping the number of candidates available. That's according to recruitment agency Alexander Lloyd.
During September the number of new vacancies increased by 37% and by 47% over the past six months.
In its latest employment survey the agency suggested that employers are in a positive expansion mood. However it did raise doubts over the quality of candidates in the South-east region.
Neil Quarendon, operations director at Alexander Lloyd said: "Finding the right candidates to fill these vacancies is proving difficult for those companies who rely on their own recruitment resources and many are seeking help."
Quarendon added that future expansion in the sector could be checked by the lack of quality job candidates.
