Liverpool Victoria has pledged that policyholders whose car engines are damaged by allegedly ‘contaminated' petrol will be able to claim for the damage under their car insurance policies.
John O'Roarke, managing director of Liverpool Victoria General Insurance, said: “If any of our motor policyholders have experienced a mechanical breakdown which is proved to have been caused by contaminated petrol, we will honour their claim under the accidental damage section of their policies.
"This is a tangible example of the way that, as a mutual insurer, we can go that little bit further in looking after our policyholders and helping them through difficult times.”
