Business risk consultancy Control Risks Group's international maritime division said it has formed a partnership with PMSi (Port Marine Security International) to offer a complete security solution system for logistics supply chains.
Under the deal, Control Risks said it would provide strategic assessment and advice on port and terminal security while PSMi would provide security training for Control Risks' maritime clients.
It said a particular emphasis would be placed on compliance with the new international security regulations which come into force on 1 July 2004.
PMSi commercial manager David Anthony said: "Some ports have already stated they will ban ships that are not compliant and insurance experts are predicting that code compliance will almost certainly be a requirement for valid insurance."
