Allianz Cornhill will review its loss adjusting panel later this year.

Claims and services executive Keith Mahon said the insurer would be looking for quality and a sound skills base. "There is a lot of emphasis on cost control and we are worried quality is being driven out of the market," he said. "We will be looking to make sure skills are at a high level and have loss adjusters which can identify with our philosophy."

Mahon said the review would happen in the third quarter of this year.

He said the insurer reviewed its loss adjusting panel two to three years ago. "The main driver for this revision is a lot of change in ownership of loss adjusting companies. We need to have a rethink," Mahon said.

Allianz Cornhill currently uses Cunningham Lindsey, Capita McLarens, GAB Robins and The Davis Group.

Mahon said the company would not look to expand the number of firms it uses, "but might drop one of the four to bring someone else on board," he said.
